I really like to keep things simple when it comes to porch decor. I think that’s because I’m not really outdoorsy, and I’m terrified of critters and bugs getting all up in my space. It seems like if I keep things simple, there are no hiding places for snakes or anything. [I don’t know y’all, I’m weird, okay?!]
I do really love Fall though! Mums and pumpkins (regular and Reese’s) have my heart; so I definitely wanted to dress our front steps up a little for the season.
Ignore the fact that my, once beautiful, preserved boxwood wreath is super sad that I stuck it outside. (In my defense, I had no clue that this would happen, and now I’m determined to get every ounce of beauty out of this sucker before I replace it). Let’s focus, instead, on the fact that WALMART had these beautiful Cinderella pumpkins! I seriously thought I would have to drive over an hour away to Trader Joe’s for these, or else settle for regular orange pumpkins. So imagine my surprise when I was wandering through the produce section at my local Walmart, and stumbled across these beauties! It was a good day, indeed.
Also from Walmart, are these pretty pink mums. I think they were $5 each, which is great because they’ll surely meet their doom soon. Anyway, I stacked them on an upside down flower pot to give them height in these galvanized olive buckets, as opposed to repotting them completely, and I’m loving the look!
Layered rugs really pull everything together, in my opinion. I love a good doormat, but they’re typically pretty small. Adding a thin outdoor rug that’s a little bigger than the doormat can make your space seem a lot bigger and more complete.
