One thing that I try to do for Eleanor each year is to give her one “big” gift and then fill in with little wants and necessities. Every gift doesn’t necessarily have to be a toy, and the big gift doesn’t necessarily have to be big (big can mean literally big, or just a pricier item that she wants). Last year she got an art easel for her big gift, and it was only $20 from Ikea; however, this year her big gift is big in every sense of the word (lol). She’s been wanting this ice-cream truck for her My Generation Doll (a much more affordable version of the American Girl Dolls), and this year I finally caved. Now I’ll grab several more things from her “want” list, but I also plan to add in some things that she needs too! Everything is a gift this time of year! Pajamas, a toothbrush and new underwear all make the gift pile around here.
I ordered E this rainbow purse for carrying her money (she always has a wad of cash, thanks to her grandparents). She already has the unicorn doll (which is huge) and backpack (which she loves!). I don’t know about your child, but mine hoards house slippers like it’s her job, so she’s always down for another pair, especially when glitter is involved! Lately she’s been sipping her breakfast beverage (typically water) from one of my coffee mugs, so when I came across this melamine one, I knew she needed it. Lastly, I hope that Eleanor never outgrows building blocks! We have a ton around here, and these magnetic Tegu blocks are so fun to play with!
I added shop-able links below for all of these goodies and more, so I want to chat about a few extras that I added. First, this bag of kinetic sand paired with the tub (available in several colors, we have pink), has been a game changer! Eleanor could play for hours with this stuff, and it’s much easier than actual sand to clean up! (insert praise hands here lol) Next, this sweet little customizable chair is not exactly the cheapest gift you’ll ever give, but it does last! Eleanor has had hers for years, and it’s still as good as new. The slipcover can be washed, and even switched out to grow with her ever-changing style. She drags this thing all over the house! Another thing that she still (surprisingly) uses is her piggy rocker! I linked a couple of cute options that are available this year, at two different price points. She absolutely loves her teepee! She’s had that thing for years too, and continues to surprise me with all the different ways she uses it. She saw this doodle-unicorn in store the other day, and reallllly wanted it, so I “put it on her wish list” and ordered it for her. My mother-in-law got Eleanor a stroller identical to this one for her babies a few years back, and she absolutely loves it! And lastly, she’s obsessed with high heels, so Leslie and I knew these glittery pretties would be the perfect gift come Christmas morning!
DISCLAIMER: Please excuse the fact that everything here is frilly and pink, I only have Eleanor, and she’s the girliest of girls right now! I promise to do better being more inclusive in the future.
